SteveRecruiter, LLC in Washington DC is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3‑month contract with potential for permanent placement. The role involves hard draws and geriatric patients, blood collection, labeling, and sample handling, working Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm at the Georgia Ave NW location.

Responsibilities include collecting and storing specimens, explaining venipuncture procedures, following OSHA/DEP rules, and attending annual trainings.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification required (state where employed)
• Minimum of 5 years’ venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel)

Responsabilités

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains venipuncture process to patients in a clear and courteous manner.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all physicians' orders.
• Match requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze as required.
• Check test requisitions for accuracy against scripts.
• Package specimens for transport and store at required temperatures.
• Attend annual department trainings and comply with OSHA/DEP regulations.
