Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification as required by state.
• Minimum 5 years venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.
• Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data.
• Update patient information and decontamination steps as required.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Match requisition forms to tubes and prepare specimens for transport.
• Ensure correct labeling and packaging for transport while following protocols.
• Store samples at required temperatures and comply with OSHA/DEP rules.
• Attend annual department trainings and respond to inquiries.
