Job summary

Accounting Search is seeking a phlebotomist in Washington, DC to support a 3-month contract with potential for permanency. The role requires experience with blood draws, specimen labeling, and adherence to lab procedures. Schedule is Mon–Fri 8am–5pm with on-site duties at the DC location.

Qualifications

• Experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Must have blood draw experience and ability to label and process specimens.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and centrifuging; record maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collect and store specimens per established procedures; update patient information.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique with both straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand physician orders and match requisitions to samples.
• Package specimens for transport and maintain sample integrity per protocol.
• Attend required department trainings and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
