Job summary

Talent With Heart is seeking a Phlebotomist for a Washington DC location. The role entails blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, and maintaining data accuracy in a fast-paced setting. Expected schedule is Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm, with a 3-month contract and potential for permanent hire.

Experience with venipuncture, geriatric patients, and adherence to procedures and safety protocols is required. Benefits are available; training will be provided and OSHA/DEP regulations followed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Comfortable with hard draws and geriatric patients.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging, and recording maintenance data.
• Collects and stores specimens according to procedures.
• Clearly explains the venipuncture process to patients in a courteous manner.
• Demonstrates technique with straight and butterfly needles.
• Understands physicians' orders and matches requisition forms to tubes.
• Packages specimens for transport and stores them at required temperatures.
• Attends annual department trainings and answers inquiries from results.
