Job summary

Connectly Recruiting in Washington DC is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract position with potential to become permanent. The role involves performing blood draws, labeling specimens, and following all safety and lab procedures.

Schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with an expected duration of 3 months plus potential for permanent placement. Must be comfortable with venipuncture and geriatric patients.

Qualifications

Valid phlebotomy certification required in some states.
Minimum 5 years venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Perform blood draws and label specimens.
Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data.
Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients.
Package specimens for transport and transport as required.
Ensure accuracy by matching requisitions to specimens.
Follow OSHA/DEP regulations and safety protocols.
Attend annual department trainings.
Answer inquiries and communicate results as needed.
