Connectly Recruiting in Washington, DC is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent hire. The role involves blood draws, specimen labeling, and strict adherence to safety and quality protocols.

Requirements include valid phlebotomy certification, at least 5 years of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting, and a high school diploma or GED. Schedule is Mon-Fri 7am-4pm, with Saturday mornings.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification as required by the state.
• Minimum 5 years of venipuncture experience in fast-paced lab or hospital.
• High school diploma or GED (as required).

Responsabilités

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders and match requisitions to tubes.
• Package specimens for transport and store per protocol; comply with OSHA/DEP regulations.
