Professional Recruiting Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist in Washington, DC for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. The role requires blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, and data entry with adherence to safety regulations.

Responsibilities include collecting specimens, explaining procedures to patients, and ensuring accuracy across requisitions. Requires phlebotomy certification and relevant experience in fast-paced labs or hospitals.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 5 work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsabilités

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously as required
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles
• Understand all physician orders and match requisitions to specimens
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order
• Check test requisitions or computer label against script for 100% accuracy
• Package specimens for transport
• Store specimens per required temperature and protocol, and comply with OSHA/DEP regulations
• Attend annual department trainings
• Answer calls and read lab results to satisfy inquiries
