Job summary

Target is seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager to lead CI efforts in a Distribution Center, driving Lean/Six Sigma and 8-Step problem-solving. You will mentor leaders and project teams to deploy initiatives that improve lead times, quality, and cost.

You’ll partner with site leadership to identify and prioritize opportunities, ensuring sustainable process optimization and KPI alignment across operations. This role supports 24/7 facilities with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience.
• 3 to 6 years of structured problem-solving experience (Green Belt preferred).
• Working knowledge of structured problem solving tools (DMAIC, Statistical Process Control, Kaizen, Process Mapping, 5S, Fishbone, etc.).
• Proven strength in problem solving and data/statistical analysis.
• Project management skills including scoping, problem statements, goal definition, and timeline management.
• Strong training and mentoring skills with emphasis on team member development and engagement.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, organizational, and presentation skills.
• Most facilities operate 24/7 with flexible working hours.
• Able to access all areas of the Distribution Center, including mezzanine platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own continuous improvement for a Distribution Center functional area (e.g., Replenishment/Fulfillment).
• Champion structured problem-solving strategies (Lean/Six Sigma/8 Step) and oversee program execution.
• Mentor leaders and project teams to deploy initiatives and align CI principles.
• Identify, prioritize, and lead opportunities for lead-time, quality, and cost improvements.
• Lead process optimization with focus on KPIs and sustainment.
