Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Continuous Improvement Engineer in Indianapolis, IN to apply data-driven CI, engineering, and Lean methods across the operation. You will lead value stream mapping, kaizen events, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Ideal candidates have experience with slotting, 5S, Kaizen, Snowflake/SQL, and Manhattan SCALE WMS, plus strong data analytics and communication skills. This is a salaried 1st shift role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain with 3+ years in warehousing, transport, or manufacturing.
• Master’s degree with 1 year relevant experience; MBA requires undergrad in Engineering.
• Proficiency in Excel/PowerPoint/Visio; Access is a plus.
• Knowledge of data visualization (PowerBI/Tableau) and SQL/DAX is desirable.
• Lean/TPS tools (5S, Standard Work, Visual Management) required.

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis; documents processes and identifies gaps.
• Leads CI projects and supports automation initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Applies Lean methods and tools to improve distribution/transport operations; conducts Kaizen events.
• Facilitates Value Stream Maps and Kaizen events; drives sustainment and results.
