Job summary

D.R. Horton is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the Superintendent in managing the construction site and delivering high-quality homes.

You will help schedule subcontractors, supervise site activities, and ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery while maintaining excellent customer service. Ideal candidates have 6 months to 2 years of related construction experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to read plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months to 2 years of related experience.
• Must have valid driver’s license and be willing to drive among construction sites.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Ability to read plans and other construction documents.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect each home daily to assure quality and alignment with plans and schedule.
• Schedule and walk all inspections with inspectors.
• Walk completed homes before homeowner walk-through and closing to ensure quality.
• Conduct homeowner orientation and ensure homeowner satisfaction.
• Assist in managing subcontractors and evaluating performance on quality, safety, and cost.
• Enforce site safety program and subcontractor compliance with standards and regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness standards on communities and jobsites.
• Assist in managing construction materials to prevent damage and loss.
• Support the construction schedule and ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.
• Provide superior customer service during all phases of construction.
• Develop relations with subcontractors and homeowners.
• Develop knowledge in building codes and construction terminology.
• If Superintendent absent, maintain schedules and guidelines.
