Job summary

Clayco is seeking a Site Safety Manager to support project staff and the safety team in enforcing corporate safety standards across projects. You will lead safety inspections, coordinate orientations, and drive proactive safety initiatives on site.

The role requires 10+ years of field experience, OSHA credentials, and strong leadership to foster a zero-injury culture, with nationwide travel as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent.
• 6–12 years of safety experience in building construction.
• 10+ years of field experience minimum.
• OSHA 30-hour construction accreditation.
• OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer is a plus.
• Strong management, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
• Physical ability to climb stairs, ladders, and navigate active construction sites.
• Able to work at heights and tolerate varying noise levels.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of the project safety program.
• Establish and conduct jobsite orientation for new project employees.
• Attend initial meetings with project staff and subcontractor representatives.
• Manage larger projects up to $160M.
• Client interfacing.
• Manage other Clayco Safety Supervisors on the project.
• Conduct and document pre-planning safety meetings with subcontractor representatives.
• Establish and conduct regular safety meetings with subcontractor representatives and project staff.
• Facilitate training for site personnel per OSHA/Clayco standards.
• Maintain logs of subcontractor toolbox safety meetings.
• Review subcontractor safety programs and ensure compliance.
• Ensure a safety representative is designated for each subcontractor.
• Conduct daily and weekly jobsite inspections and document violations.
