Job summary

Morton Buildings, Inc. is seeking a Construction Service Crew Member to join a field team focused on repairing and maintaining post-frame buildings. You will read plans, perform diverse repairs, and work with crew members to complete tasks safely and efficiently.

The role includes significant physical work, climbing, and daily problem solving in varied weather. The position offers a structured pay scale with base hourly wages of $23.00–$25.00 plus bonuses and progression pay.

Qualifications

• Post-frame construction or carpentry experience preferred.
• Willingness to participate in and complete a training program.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Available to work 9–10 hours during peak construction season.
• Ability to take direction and produce quality work efficiently.
• Commitment to safety procedures and proper tool use.
• 50 lb lifting with occasional up to 100 lb.
• Ability to work at heights up to 40 feet.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel 25% (including overnight trips).

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply Morton Buildings’ safety and construction procedures.
• Read and build according to construction plans.
• Repair buildings including doors, roofing, skylights, siding, and footings.
• Operate hand tools and safety equipment safely.
• Adapt to a flexible schedule and various weather conditions.
• Work with crew to ensure organized, productive environment.
• Troubleshoot and think creatively to solve repairs.
• Be willing to advance and help plan daily activities.
