Job summary

Turner Construction Co. is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety professional to train construction teams on safe work practices and enforce EH&S policies on a San Antonio project.

The role focuses on identifying hazardous conditions, reducing incident rates, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The position requires a Bachelor's in OSH/Engineering or related field with at least 2 years of safety experience, CHST certification, OSHA 30, and current First

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in OSH/Engineering or related field with 2+ years safety experience
• CHST certification required or within two years of appointment
• OSHA 30-hour training and current First Aid/CPR/BBP/AED certifications
• Familiar with safety/environmental principles and regulations
• Familiar with Federal, State, and local EH&S regulations
• Familiar with general construction operations
• Ability to identify safety exposures and propose corrective actions
• Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Educate project team on EH&S programs and enforce safe work practices
• Promote safety in accordance with regulations and owner requirements
• Build relationships with project teams and subcontractor safety reps
• Contribute to development of the overall safety program
• Enforce safety policies and implement corrective actions
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance
• Hold pre-construction safety meetings with subcontractors
• Gather PTAs and JHAs for subcontractors
• Coordinate preconstruction meetings and OSHA-aligned training
• Create safety reports and analyze metrics for improvements
• Conduct safety meetings and document minutes
• Maintain log of toolbox talks and safety reports
• Conduct safety audits and address violations with subcontractors
• Evaluate training needs and reduce incident rates
• Administer drug screening program per requirements
• Other duties as assigned
