Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) trainer for an Indianapolis project. The role focuses on educating the project team and Turner trades on EH&S programs, enforcing safe work practices, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in safety-related field, CHST certification or within two years, OSHA 30-hour, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field, with at least 2 years of construction safety experience.
• CHST certification required or within two years of appointment.
• OSHA 30-hour training completed; current First Aid/CPR/BBP and AED certifications.
• Familiar with federal, state, and local EH&S regulations and safety principles.
• Ability to identify safety exposures and propose corrective actions; strong leadership and teamwork.
• Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Educate project teams and Turner trades on EH&S programs and safe work practices.
• Promote safe working conditions in line with regs and contractual requirements.
• Lead hazard analyses, pre-task plans, and safety meetings.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance.
• Administer and document drug screening and incident reporting.
• Develop and improve the project safety program and metrics.
• Maintain subcontractor safety meeting logs and issue reports.
