Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks an Entry-level Environmental Health and Safety professional for the San Antonio Main division. The role focuses on enforcing EH&S policies, supporting risk management, and coordinating safety efforts on construction sites.

You will assist with training, compliance reviews, and documentation of safety programs, records, and meetings. This entry-level position requires a Bachelor’s degree and a solid knowledge of safety principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or related field
• Basic knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques
• Familiar with Federal, State, and local Environmental Health & Safety regulations
• Familiar with general construction operations
• Ability to identify safety related exposures and propose corrective actions
• Demonstrate leadership and interpersonal skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to follow directions and meet commitments
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Analytical thinking and good judgment
• Flexible to reprioritize responsibilities with management
• Proficient computer skills and data entry (MS Office)

Responsibilities

• Assist with enforcing EH&S policies and risk management on construction projects
• Assist with training safe work practices and safety programs
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance with regulations and contract requirements
• Review subcontractors training per OSHA standards
• Promote safe work practices and conditions per regulations and owner requirements
• Assist with drug screening administration per project requirements
• Coordinate preconstruction meetings
• Conduct worker orientation and record participation
• Gather Pre-Task Plans and Job Hazard Analyses for contractors
• Maintain safety records and logs
• Conduct safety meetings and record minutes
• Prepare summary reports of subcontractor toolbox safety meetings
• Conduct site safety audits and prepare corrective action reports
• Identify and report safety violations with emphasis on imminent danger
• Support orientation programs for new employees
• Other duties as assigned
