Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks an experienced safety trainer to educate the project team on Environmental Health & Safety programs and enforce strict adherence to policies and procedures. You will promote safe work practices and coordinate with subcontractors to meet regulatory and owner requirements.

The role focuses on developing the project safety program, conducting training, and documenting compliance while supporting pre-construction planning and risk mitigation efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field, plus a minimum of 2 years of construction safety experience.
• CHST certification required or within two years of appointment.
• Completed OSHA 30-hour training and maintain First Aid/CPR/BBP and AED certifications.
• Familiar with safety/environmental principles and Federal, State, and local EH&S regulations.
• Demonstrates leadership, teamwork, and effective communication skills.
• Ability to identify safety exposures and propose corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Educate the project team on EH&S programs, policies, and procedures and train on safe work practices to enforce compliance.
• Promote safe working conditions per regulations and owner requirements.
• Build relations with project teams and subcontractor safety reps.
• Contribute to development of the overall safety program.
• Enforce safety policies and take corrective actions as required.
