Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Safety Engineer to support the safety manager and project team on construction projects. This role includes implementing safety policies, monitoring activities, and correcting unsafe conditions, both in the field and office.

It is a safety-sensitive position requiring effective communication and ongoing learning. Responsibilities include audits, incident investigations, and coordination with stakeholders to ensure compliance and continuous improvement of safety

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree is preferred.
• Occupational Safety and Health degree suggested.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel templates, is expected.

Responsibilities

• Support the safety manager and project team with safety policies and procedures.
• Assist in planning, monitoring, and correcting unsafe acts or conditions.
• Conduct project safety audits and participate in inspections.
• Assist with OSHA inspections, injuries, and incident investigations.
• Contribute to accident prevention and crisis management planning.
• Monitor safety performance and participate in formal training courses.
• Engage with stakeholders to ensure safety compliance on site and in office.
