Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Safety Engineer to support the safety manager and project team on a construction project. The role involves applying safety policies, monitoring activities, and correcting hazards in field and office settings.

You will participate in accident prevention planning, audits, and OSHA inspections, coordinating with trade partners. A four-year degree is preferred, with an occupational safety background recommended; valid driver's license required.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree is preferred.
• Occupational Safety and Health degree suggested.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with stakeholders including HP staff, craft and trade partners.
• Knowledgeable of the company safety and health program and regulatory standards such as EM 385-1-1.
• Assist project superintendent with accident prevention plan and safety management tools.
• Participate in the six-step quality control/safety process including activity hazard analyses and inspections.
• Conduct project safety audits and assist with OSHA inspections.
• Assist with accident investigations, injury management, and claim reporting.
• Monitor Hensel Phelps and trade partner safety performance.
• Attend awareness and competent person level courses.
• Learn the construction process and responsibilities of all positions.
