Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Safety Engineer to support the safety manager and project teams on construction projects across multiple Texas locations. You will help implement safety policies, monitor activities, and correct unsafe acts in field and office settings.

The role involves coordination with subcontractors and stakeholders, participation in incident investigations, and ensuring compliance with EM 385-1-1 and company safety programs. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree is preferred.
• Occupational Safety and Health degree suggested.
• Valid Driver’s License, required
• Strong communication skills
• Microsoft Office Suite with Excel-based templates; Prolog, Primavera and AutoDesk Suite proficiency

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with Hensel Phelps staff, craft and trade partners.
• Assist with accident prevention plan, safety management tool and crisis plan.
• Participate in quality control/safety process reviews and follow-up inspections.
• Conduct project safety audits and maintain project safety records.
• Assist with OSHA inspections as needed and incidents investigations.
• Support monitoring of safety performance of company and trade partners.
• Attend awareness and competent person level safety courses.
• Learn construction processes and roles of all positions.
