Job summary

Lennar in Austin, TX is seeking a Purchasing Agent to oversee development, negotiation, and execution of division sourcing agreements, while maintaining material take-offs and supporting the VP of Purchasing. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of purchasing experience, ideally with a national home builder.
• Proficient in reading residential blueprints and Excel.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance; multitasking under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Lennar selects the best subcontractors with focus on quality, cost, service and delivery.
• Review site development plans and specifications.
• Pre-qualify and select qualified subcontractors offering cost-effective services.
• Prepare and analyze bid packages, including scopes of work and payment schedules.
• Monitor trade partner performance for contract compliance and resolve issues.
• Oversee contracts, material take-offs, and purchasing systems (BuildPro, JDE).
• Implement material sourcing strategies to optimize supply chains and reduce division costs.
• Maintain relationships with trade partners, ensuring policy and budget adherence.
• Ensure prompt progress payments and address discrepancies; participate in monthly budget meetings.
