Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree; Preferred in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of architectural designs/engineering concepts and processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects through influence and drive accountability across contractors, developers / landlords, vendors and cross-functional partners.
• Practical construction technology and methods.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, manage, and execute complex phased planning and construction schedules.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to recognize construction risk, evaluate alternatives and drive issues to resolution.
• Ability to travel weekly.

Responsibilities

• Manage the bidding and awarding processes related to all GC's, CM's, subcontractors and suppliers for Food Lion-contracted projects.
• Oversee the preparation of contracts, purchase orders, processing, and payment of all requisitions and invoices.
• Manage the Construction Change Authorization/Change Order process for Food Lion-contracted work.
• Manage the bid, contract and requisition approval process for Food Lion-contracted projects.
• Review redline ARCH/MEP plans for accuracy and conformance to standards.
• Provide value engineering feedback to Engineering on assigned projects.
• Develop and implement cost savings ideas, including value engineering.
• Plan and monitor detailed phase plans, schedules and milestones; coordinate with internal departments.
• Direct weekly project construction and operations meetings; liaise with GC's, CM's, developers / landlords, vendors.
• Inspect progress to ensure compliance with plans and Food Lion requirements.
• Monitor on-site activities for schedule risks and drive corrective actions.
• Prepare and manage construction schedules, two-week look aheads and critical milestones.
• Ensure safety inspections and promote a safe working environment.
• Manage project closeout including warranties, punch lists and final invoices.
• Serve as primary construction point of contact for projects; communicate status and risks.
