AppleOne Employment Services is seeking an experienced Construction Accountant to support project accounting, construction payroll, certified payroll, and prevailing wage compliance for commercial construction projects in North County San Diego. The role partners with project managers, field leadership, and leadership to drive accurate financial operations and project profitability.

Qualifications

• 4 to 6+ years of experience in construction accounting and project accounting.
• Certified payroll and prevailing wage experience is strongly required.
• Experience with public works construction projects, labor compliance, and union payroll reporting.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Sage 100 Contractor and QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day construction accounting functions, including project accounting, job costing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger support.
• Track labor costs, project expenses, job profitability, and financial performance across multiple construction projects.
• Prepare, process, and submit certified payroll reports for public works and prevailing wage projects in compliance with applicable requirements.
• Process construction payroll, review timesheets, verify labor classifications, allocate labor costs, and maintain accurate payroll records.
• Prepare union payroll reports, contributions, and related compliance documentation for multiple construction trades.
• Generate project-specific payroll, labor, compliance, and financial reports for management and project teams.
