Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for a full-time, temp-to-hire role in the San Diego area. Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of AP experience in construction, strong job costing and invoice coding skills, and proficiency with Excel and accounting software.

You will process invoices, code expenditures to GL and job codes, and ensure timely payments with strong vendor communication.

Qualifications

• 3+ years accounts payable experience, preferably in construction.
• Experience with job costing, purchase orders and vendor payments.

Responsibilities

• Process, code, and enter vendor invoices with GL accounts and job cost codes.
• Match invoices to POs and supporting docs; verify accuracy, approvals, and completeness.
• Prepare vendor payments and run scheduled check runs; maintain vendor records.
• Reconcile vendor statements; research discrepancies; communicate with vendors.
• Assist with monthly AP reconciliations, closing, reports, and records maintenance.
• Provide backup AR support, including check posting and payment applications when needed.
