AppleOne Employment Services is seeking an experienced Certified Payroll Specialist to support complex payroll operations for residential, commercial, and office construction projects in north San Diego. The role emphasizes compliance with prevailing wage, union rules, and labor regulations, and offers growth within a stable construction team.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of construction payroll experience, proficiency with multi-state payroll, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant payroll experience required.
• Construction payroll and project accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with multi-state payroll, prevailing wage, and union payroll.
• Knowledge of union payroll and master labor agreements.
• Compliance with federal, state, local wage requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and time management.

Responsibilities

• Process multi-state payroll with timesheet review, updates, tax calculations, and record maintenance.
• Prepare and submit certified payroll reports using platforms such as LCPtracker, eMars, Elations.
• Manage union payroll reporting and apply wage rules and agreements.
• Prepare payroll journal entries and support payroll-related accounting.
• Generate project-specific payroll, labor, job cost, and compliance reports.
• Assist with project setup, job setup, documentation, and construction accounting processes.
