Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a construction employer in the North Cincinnati area to hire a Payroll Specialist for a contract role supporting a multi-state workforce and certified payroll reporting.

You will ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and timely processing for 1,000+ employees, collaborating with payroll, accounting, HR, and operations teams. Strong attention to detail and knowledge of wage reporting are essential, with union payroll experience preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of payroll experience.
• Previous construction payroll experience required.
• Experience supporting payroll for a large employee population, ideally 1,000+ employees.
• Prior multi-state payroll experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, wage reporting, and related payroll requirements.
• Union payroll experience is highly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines and high-volume workloads.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process certified payroll reporting for construction projects.
• Support payroll activities for a workforce of more than 1,000 employees across multiple states.
• Review employee hours, job classifications, pay rates, deductions, and adjustments for accuracy.
• Maintain organized payroll records and provide documentation for audits and reporting requests.
• Research and assist with resolving payroll discrepancies and employee payroll issues.
• Partner with payroll, accounting, HR, and operational teams to support accurate and timely payroll processing.
