CFS is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support weekly payroll across multiple entities and construction projects. The role combines hands-on processing with employee support, payroll reconciliation, and specialized reporting.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of three years in payroll, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with Excel. This on-site position involves collaboration with HR, accounting, and operations to ensure accurate, timely payroll and compliance.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of payroll processing experience.
• Knowledge of payroll reconciliation, internal controls, payroll taxes, and wage/hour rules.
• Strong attention to detail and discretion with employee data.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet weekly payroll deadlines.
• Clear communication and collaboration with HR, accounting, and operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Proactive approach to resolving issues and learning new payroll procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate weekly payroll from timecard review to final processing.
• Review timekeeping data from multiple systems and resolve discrepancies.
• Apply pay rates, including union and certified payroll rates, for labor hours.
• Reconcile attendance, leave, and payroll adjustments with Payroll Manager.
• Maintain accurate payroll information with HR for onboarding and separations.
• Prepare off-cycle and final paychecks according to deadlines.
• Complete certified payroll submissions and union reports.
• Assist with apprenticeship documentation and Act compliance reporting.
• Provide payroll reports to management and maintain confidential records.
