Job summary

Hensel Phelps in Columbus, OH is seeking a construction Laborer to provide support on site. You will assist form carpenters, concrete crews, masons, and carpenters with materials, equipment, and safety practices in a fast-paced environment.

This safety-sensitive role requires a High School diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a commitment to punctuality. On-site work, heavy lifting, and adherence to site protocols are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Follow safe work practices per safety program.
• Must provide own safety footwear.
• Effective communication with coworkers and stakeholders.
• Reliable and punctual attendance required.
• Must be able to read blueprints and load charts when needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare areas for concrete placement with final excavation and grading.
• Assemble concrete forms and lift form panels for placement.
• Handle the concrete bucket from a crane and spread concrete in slabs.
• Strip forms after curing and transport them for storage.
• Assist concrete finishers with power trowels and screeds.
• Support masons with bags of cement, lime, sand, and grout.
• Assist carpenters with transporting door frames to work areas.
• Load/unload and distribute materials and keep the site organized and clean.
• Promote safety and secure the jobsite at end of day.
