Job summary

Hensel Phelps is hiring Laborers to support form carpenters, concrete operations, ironworkers, and masons on construction projects. This safety‑sensitive role requires physical endurance and hands‑on teamwork on a dynamic site.

You will assist with excavation, forms, concrete placement, and material handling while upholding strict safety practices and daily site upkeep. Strong attention to detail and reliability are essential for success in this hands‑on position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Follow safe work practices per Hensel Phelps safety program.
• Must be able to take initiative and ask questions.
• Possess attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Workers must provide their own safety footwear.
• Must communicate effectively with coworkers and stakeholders.
• Strong mathematical reasoning and quantitative skills.
• Must be reliable and punctual.
• Includes having reliable transportation and consistent work attendance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare areas for concrete placement including dirt removal and grading.
• Assemble and position concrete forms and assist in form placement.
• Move materials and equipment, including transferring concrete from truck via bucket.
• Strip forms after concrete cures and transport forms for storage.
• Assist finishers with power trowels and screeds to finish surfaces.
• Support masons with handling bags of cement, lime, sand, and grout.
• Assist carpenters by moving and placing door frames; stack as needed.
• Load/unload and identify building materials, tools, and machinery; distribute on site.
• Promote safety and help secure the jobsite at day end and store materials properly.
