Job summary

Hensel Phelps in Texas is seeking a Laborer to provide support on our construction sites, assisting form carpenters, concrete crews, ironworkers, rodbusters and masons.

You will handle materials, prepare areas, move equipment, and help ensure safety and site housekeeping while following company safety programs. This is a safety sensitive position requiring physical stamina and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Follow safe work practices in accordance with the Hensel Phelps safety and health program.
• Must be able to take initiative and ask questions.
• Possess a keen attention to detail and be able to follow instructions.
• Workers must provide their own safety footwear.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with co‑workers and stakeholders.
• Strong mathematical reasoning and quantitative skills.
• Must be reliable and punctual.
• This includes having reliable transportation and consistent work attendance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare areas for concrete placement, including excavation and final grading.
• Assemble and position concrete forms and assist in placing form panels.
• Move concrete buckets and spread concrete from slabs.
• Strip forms after curing and transport them for storage.
• Assist finishers with power trowels and screeds for surface finish.
• Handle and transport materials for masonry work and door frames.
• Load/unload, identify, and distribute building materials and tools.
• Promote safety and secure the jobsite at day end and ensure proper storage of materials.
