Job summary

Turner Construction is seeking an Intern for an on-site learning experience at our Houston project site. You will be supervised on active construction activities, gaining foundational knowledge in construction management, project safety, and coordination with subcontractors and vendors.

You will participate in training, meetings, and daily reporting, applying academic knowledge to real project needs while developing professional skills in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in college or university, or in a Co-op program, with at least one year completed.
• Must be 18 years of age to work on a construction site.
• Desire to learn construction management and industry practices.
• Commitment to standard business hours and potential overtime as needed.
• Demonstrate communication skills and willingness to learn in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist on active construction projects with supervision, developing knowledge in management, safety, and coordination.
• Support meeting coordination, material tracking, file management, and progress reporting.
• Carefully follow site signage and supervisor instructions and document activity.
• Attend trainings and site visits, and apply classroom learning to field work.
• Assist with start-up activities, RFIs, submittals, and coordination with Architects/Engineers/ Vendors.
