Job summary

Turner Construction Co. is seeking an enrolled student for an on-site internship in Houston, TX. The role supports day-to-day construction management activities, safety compliance, and coordination with the project team to gain foundational knowledge of project lifecycle.

You will assist with project startup tasks, document control, RFIs, and coordination with subcontractors while developing professional skills and industry understanding.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a college/university degree program or Co-op, minimum 1 year of education completed.
• Desire to work in construction management and learn about the industry.
• Ability to read and comprehend written information.
• Proactive, curious, and eager to learn and participate.

Responsibilities

• Support project team with meeting coordination, material tracking, file management, and progress reporting.
• Follow project site signage and supervisor directions.
• Provide progress reports to supervisor and learn about construction management.
• Assist with project start-up activities and support Project Engineer/ Superintendent/ Manager.
• Assist with documentation for RFIs, shop drawings, and contract requirements.
• Attend site visits and communicate with Architects, Engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with Turner safety program and PPE requirements.
• Assist with quantity take-offs and estimates for changes in work.
• Contribute to project close-out preparations.
