Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Summer 2027 Construction Intern to gain hands-on experience across our homebuilding operations.

Interns rotate through departments, assist with projects, and participate in training, site visits, and reporting to support daily business needs. You must be enrolled in a four-year college and pursuing a related field, with strong communication, organization, and teamwork. The program offers exposure to real-world construction processes and potential paths to full-time

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a four-year college/university and entering junior or senior year, or recently graduated.
• Pursuing a degree related to the internship area (business, technology, construction, real estate, etc.).
• Demonstrated interest in learning about career opportunities within homebuilding and related functions.
• Strong willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute in a professional team environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication with teammates and partners.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new software and systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team; adaptable across settings.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations within the assigned department, division, office, field location, jobsite, or business function
• Assist with department-specific projects, research, reporting, administrative activities, coordination efforts, systems, processes, and other needs
• Learn and apply departmental responsibilities, terminology, and safety requirements
• Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments to understand how areas support homebuilding and customer experience
• Participate in training programs, meetings, rotations, and other learning opportunities
• Explore career opportunities within D.R. Horton that may lead to full-time employment after graduation
• Conduct business in a professional, ethical, and respectful manner
• Ability to work overtime
• Ability to travel including occasional overnight travel
