D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Summer 2027 Construction Intern to gain hands-on experience across multiple departments, including office and field-based activities.

Interns participate in rotations, research, reporting, and training to learn about homebuilding processes, customer experience, and career opportunities within the company. The program emphasizes professional development, exposure to diverse business functions, and the chance to build a career with a Fortune 500 homebuilder.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations within the assigned department, division, office, field location, jobsite, or business function.
• Assist with department‑specific projects, research, reporting, administrative activities, coordination efforts, systems, processes, and other business needs assigned.
• Learn and apply departmental responsibilities, industry terminology, business systems, company policies, safety requirements, and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with team members and cross‑functional departments to gain an understanding of how various areas of the Company support homebuilding, homebuying, business operations, and the overall customer experience.
• Participate in training programs, meetings, departmental rotations, and other learning opportunities designed to enhance knowledge of the Company, assigned function, and potential career paths.
• Explore career opportunities within D.R. Horton and affiliated businesses that may lead to future full‑time employment following graduation.
• Conduct all business in a professional, ethical, and respectful manner that supports customers and contributes to the Company's reputation and success
• Ability to work overtime
• Ability to travel including occasional overnight travel, as business needs require
