Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Construction Intern for Summer 2027 to gain hands-on experience in construction operations, project work, and departmental rotations.

The internship offers exposure to office and field-based activities, research, reporting, and training, with opportunities to explore full-time employment after graduation. The program emphasizes professional development, safety compliance, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance understanding of homebuilding

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a four-year college or university and entering junior or senior year.
• Pursuing a degree related to the internship area (business, technology, finance, construction, real estate, HR, marketing, operations, etc).
• Demonstrated interest in career opportunities within homebuilding, financial services, or related functions.
• Strong willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute in a professional team environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and able to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations within the assigned department, division, office, field location, jobsite, or business function.
• Assist with department-specific projects, research, reporting, administrative activities, coordination efforts, systems, processes, and other business needs.
• Learn and apply departmental responsibilities, industry terminology, business systems, company policies, safety requirements, and SOPs.
• Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments to understand how areas support homebuilding and customer experience.
• Participate in training programs, meetings, departmental rotations, and other learning opportunities.
