Job summary
Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Construction Inspector- Welding/Coating to oversee federal projects in Russellville, AL. duties include welding, coating and bolting inspections, with QA oversight and change-order reviews.
The ideal candidate holds AWS CWI, NACE/ SSPC coatings certs, ASNT NDT qualifications and EM 385-1-1 safety familiarity; RMS experience is a plus.
Qualifications
- High school diploma with 5 years of construction welding inspection experience.
- AWS CWI certification with 5+ years in steel fabrication.
- ASNT qualification for nondestructive testing.
- NACE Level I or SSPC Level I coating inspection with 2+ years testing coatings.
- Structural bolting inspection certification (AASHTO G4.2 preferred).
- Experience with Three-Phase QC/Inspection process.
- Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 USACE Safety Manual.
- Experience with RMS.
Responsibilities
- Observe, inspect, and report on federal facility construction for compliance with plans and specs.
- Perform welding inspections related to steel fabrication.
- Cover shop practices including cutting, bending, machining, fit-up, surface prep, welding, bolting and coatings.
- Perform coating inspections and testing of various coating systems.
- Perform structural bolting inspections and testing of bolting methods.
- Review plans and advise government personnel on necessary changes.
- Monitor contractor’s quality system and three-phase inspection process.
- Provide surveillance at sites and assist owner with problem resolution.
- Review and review change orders, modifications, RFIs and submittals.
- Monitor contractor schedule.
- Review QA and safety plans adherence.
- Use Resident Management System (RMS).
