Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Construction Inspector specializing in welding and coating for federal projects. You will observe, inspect, and report on workmanship, materials, and methods at designated sites in Russellville, AL.

The role requires AWS CWI and NDT/ coating qualifications, extensive field inspection experience, and ability to review plans, changes, and safety, QA, and RMS processes. Competitive compensation based on experience.

Qualifications

Minimum five years of construction welding inspection experience.
Two years of coating inspection and structural bolting inspection experience.
CWI certification and ASNT qualification required.
Coating inspection with NACE/SSPC Level 1+ training and experience.
Experience with Three-Phase QC/Inspection process and RMS preferred.

Responsibilities

Observe, inspect, and report on construction projects at federal facilities for compliance with plans and specifications.
Perform welding inspections related to steel fabrication.
Oversee shop practices including storage, handling, cutting, bending, machining, fit-up, surface prep, welding, bolting, erection and coatings.
Conduct coating inspections and testing of coating systems and methods of application.
Perform structural bolting inspections and test various bolting methods and installations.
Provide recommendations to government personnel on contract plans and specs across all construction phases.
Monitor contractor’s QA/QC and safety plans; oversee RMS usage.
Review change orders, modifications, RFIs, and submittals.
Monitor contractor’s schedule and ensure adherence to plans.
