Job summary

Accura Engineering & Consulting Services, Inc in Sarasota, FL is seeking a Construction Inspector - Welding/Coating with strong QA/QC focus. You will inspect welds, coatings, bolting, and site activities on federal projects, ensuring compliance with plans and safety standards.

Qualified candidates bring AWS CWI, ASNT NDT, NACE/ SSPC Level I+ coatings inspector, and at least 5 years in welding inspections with steel fabrication.

Qualifications

• High School graduate with 5 years of welding inspection experience.
• Minimum 5 years in steel fabrication welding inspections.
• 2 years in coating inspections and structural bolting inspections.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector with AWS QC1 experience.

Responsibilities

• Observe, inspect, and report on federal construction projects for workmanship and materials.
• Perform welding inspections related to steel fabrication.
• Oversee shop practices: storage, cutting, bending, machining, fit-up, surface prep, welding, bolting, erection, coatings.
• Inspect coatings and test coating systems and methods of application.
• Inspect structural bolting and testing of bolting methods.
• Provide recommendations to government personnel on plans and specs.
• Monitor contractor QA/QC and manage the three-phase inspection process.
• Surveil construction sites and assist owner with problem resolution.
• Review change orders, RFIs, submittals; ensure QA and safety plans.
• Ensure contractor adherence to QA and safety plans.

ASNT NDT qualification

NACE Level I or SSPC Protective Coatings Inspector Level 1

AASHTO G4.2 certification
