Job summary

CDM Smith in Urbana, IL is seeking an estimator to perform a range of construction estimating tasks on varying projects. You will develop cost projections, material lists, and labor costs to support project bids.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic to moderately complex estimating tasks.
• Creates material price lists and researches costs for take-offs.
• Uses Timberline to prepare Opinions of Probable Cost of Construction (OPCC).
• Researches historical data and compiles reports to guide estimates.
• Receives and files pricings from project managers or procurement groups.
• Contacts subcontractors and suppliers for current pricing and bidder interest.
• Participates in pre-bid job walks and Bid-Day quote tabulations.
• Supervises and directs project activities as assigned.
• Prepares and reviews submittals of moderate to high complexity.
• Issues construction documents to field crews and answers questions.
