Job summary

CDM Smith in the United States is seeking an estimator with an engineering or construction management background to join our team on diverse construction projects. You will perform quantity take-offs, prepare OPCCs with Timberline, and research historical cost data to guide estimates.

You will coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors, develop schedules, support QA/QC, and help manage changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• 3 years of related experience.
• Willingness to travel 10% or less.
• Equivalent directly related experience considered in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic to moderately complex estimating tasks including quantity take-offs and cost research for take-offs.
• Uses Timberline to prepare Opinions of Probable Cost of Construction (OPCC).
• Researches historical data and compiles reports to guide estimates.
• Coordinates with subcontractors and suppliers for current pricing and bidder interest.
• Participates in pre-bid walks and bid-day activities.
• Develops project schedules and baselines; updates progress with project controls.
