Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an estimator to perform cost estimation, quantity take-offs, and pricing research for diverse construction projects. You will use Timberline to prepare OPCCs, review prices with project managers, and coordinate with subcontractors for current pricing and bidder interest.

Role involves pre-bid walks, bid-day activities, and supporting field teams with technical and administrative tasks across multiple phases of construction.

Qualifications

• Experience with cost estimation and OPCC processes.
• Ability to research labor, material and equipment costs.
• Familiarity with bid-day and pre-bid activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to moderately complex estimating with take-offs and cost research.
• Use Timberline to prepare OPCCs and design-build estimates.
• Review pricing from PMs against OPCCs and file documents.
• Coordinate with subcontractors for current pricing and bidder interest.
• Participate in pre-bid site walks and Bid-Day tabulations.
• Support field teams with technical and site administration tasks.
• Prepare submittals and interpret drawings/specs for foremen.
• Issue documents to field crews and respond to questions.
• Maintain as-built drawings and assist with RFIs and change management.
• Coordinate material deliveries and equipment scheduling on projects.
• Develop purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders.
• Define scopes of work from project needs, simple to complex.
• Perform surveying checks and verify locations.
• Prepare PXPs, addenda, status reports and manuals.
• Assist design engineers and crews with site condition solutions.
