Job summary

CDM Smith in the United States is seeking an experienced estimator to perform quantity take-offs, prepare cost estimates, and support project teams through pre-bid activities. You will utilize Timberline to develop OPCCs and assist with bid-day tabulations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline and about 3 years of related experience, with travel up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• 3 years of related experience. Travel may be required.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic to moderately complex estimating tasks including quantity take-offs, material price lists, and researching costs.
• Uses Timberline to prepare Opinions of Probable Cost of Construction (OPCC) and design-build projects.
• Receives, reviews and files pricings from project managers against OPCCs.
• Contacts subcontractors and suppliers for current pricing and bidder interest.
• Participates in pre-bid job walks and Bid-Day quotes.
• Prepares project scheduling and financial analyses for routine reporting.
• Develops or assists in development of purchase orders, subcontracts, change orders, and payment applications.
• Assists in managing the modeling efforts and deliverables using VDC/BIM.
