Job summary

Granite Construction Company in Henderson, NV is seeking a seasoned estimator/support engineer to provide technical engineering and cost information for compliant construction work. You will interpret designs, prepare quantity take-offs, and support project leaders with accurate estimates to drive bids and schedules.

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field and at least 2 years of estimating or field support experience.

Qualifications

Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Working knowledge of construction equipment, drawings, and specs.
Ability to perform trig calculations manually or with a calculator.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

Assist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
Interpret designs/drawings for craft workers to ensure specifications are followed.
Interface with on-site departments to resolve problems and support project schedule.
Prepare and disseminate documentation records and material requirement calculations.
Provide technical support on project material controls to minimize extra costs.
Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction, change orders, and estimates.
Develop data for quantity take-offs, material prices, and labor/equipment costs.
Research historical data to compile reports and develop estimating guidelines.
May supervise and mentor project staff during client/project meetings.
