Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated in Sparks, NV is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to provide technical engineering and cost information to ensure construction work complies with standards. Position involves interpreting drawings, supporting job controls, and preparing documentation for bids and change orders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field preferred.
• 0–2 years of construction estimating support or related experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office and AGTEK Take-off software.
• Ability to interpret drawings and perform material takeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing compliance.
• Interpret drawings for craft workers to ensure specifications are followed.
• Research and resolve drawing interpretation issues to ensure code compliance.
• Prepare documentation like status reports, punch lists and estimates for supervisor.
• Provide material controls and support delivery dates and design requirements.
• Develop drawings for change orders and estimates to meet changing needs.
• Create essential data for quantity take-offs, material lists and costs.
• Maintain files to support bid accuracy and estimating figures.
