Job summary

Granite Construction Company seeks an estimator to provide technical engineering and cost information to ensure construction work complies with engineering standards. The role supports project controls, drawing interpretation, and prepares take-offs, material lists, and bid estimates to help win contracts.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management, 2+ years in estimating or field support, and proficiency with MS Office and Take-off software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.
• 2+ year's construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office products and Take-off software; working knowledge of construction equipment and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
• Interpret design/drawings for craft workers to ensure specifications are followed.
• Interface with on-site departments to resolve problems and support project schedule.
• Prepare and disseminate documentation such as status reports, punch lists, and material requirement calculations.
