Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking a civil/estimating professional responsible for providing technical engineering and cost information to ensure construction work complies with engineering standards. You will interpret drawings, prepare estimates, and support job controls, schedules and change orders.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, 0–2 years of estimating or field support, and proficiency with MS Office and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 0–2 years construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AGTEK Take-off software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
• Interpret design/drawings for craft workers installing material to ensure specifications are followed.
• Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems to verify compliance with codes, drawings and specs.
• Prepare and disseminate documentation records such as status reports, punch lists, and material requirement calculations.
• Provide technical support and direction regarding project material controls to minimize costs.
• Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, and estimates.
• Provide building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and installation.
• Develop data for quantity take-offs, material prices, labor costs, and equipment for estimates and bids.
• Research historical data and productivity reports to develop guidelines for future estimates.
