Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced construction estimator/project controls professional to support a variety of projects. You will perform basic to moderately complex estimating tasks, prepare OPCCs, and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers on pricing.

You will assist with scheduling, cost tracking, and change management while mentoring junior staff and ensuring quality control across project activities. Domestic travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to identify moderately complex problems and propose solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for project teams.
• Strong technical aptitude with construction engineering tools and methods.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and drawings.
• Demonstrated independent decision-making and time management.

Responsibilities

• Perform estimating tasks including quantity takeoffs and cost research.
• Assist in preparing Opinions of Probable Cost of Construction (OPCC).
• Coordinate pricing with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Support project scheduling, cost tracking, and change management.
• Provide technical guidance and review work of junior staff.
