Job summary

CDM Smith is looking for an estimator to perform basic to moderately complex estimating tasks on construction projects. The role involves quantity take-offs, cost research, and using Timberline to prepare Opinions of Probable Cost for design-build projects.

You will collaborate with project managers, procurement, and field teams, coordinating pricing, subcontracts, and change orders while supporting pre-bid activities and accurate RFI/documentation management.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating for construction projects.
• Ability to prepare OPCC and design-build cost estimates.
• Familiarity with procurement, subcontracts and change orders.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic to moderately complex estimating tasks including quantity take-offs and researching costs.
• Uses Timberline to prepare OPCCs and design-build estimates.
• Reviews pricing from project managers or procurement against OPCCs.
• Contacts subcontractors for current pricing and bidder interest.
• Participates in pre-bid walks and bid-day tabulations.
• Supervises project activities and provides field and site administration support.
• Prepares submittals and interprets specifications and drawings for field staff.
• Manages documentation such as PXPs, addenda, status reports and punch lists.
