Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an estimator to support construction projects. You will perform quantity take-offs, generate cost estimates, and coordinate with procurement for accurate OPCCs on design-build efforts.

You will analyze historical data, interact with subcontractors for pricing, and assist in developing purchase orders and change orders while guiding field teams through project execution.

Qualifications

• Experience performing basic to moderately complex estimating tasks.
• Familiarity with researching labor, material and equipment costs.
• Ability to prepare price lists and cost estimates for construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to moderately complex estimating tasks including quantity take-offs and cost research.
• Use Timberline to prepare or assist in OPCCs for design-build projects.
• Research historical data and compile reports to guide future estimates.
• Review pricing from project managers and procurement against OPCCs.
• Contact subcontractors and suppliers for current pricing and bidder interest.
• Participate in pre-bid job walks and Bid-Day quote tabulations.
• Supervise project activities as assigned and support field personnel.
• Prepare submittals and interpret specifications and drawings for field crews.
• Coordinate delivery of materials and installation with field teams and vendors.
• Develop or assist in developing purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders.
• Assist in developing scopes of work and manage RFIs during projects.
