Job summary

CDM Smith in the United States is seeking an estimator to perform basic to moderately complex estimating tasks on construction projects. Responsibilities include quantity take-offs, preparing material price lists, and researching costs for labor, materials, and equipment.

You will use Timberline to prepare OPCCs for construction and design-build projects, and support bid processes with project managers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic to moderately complex estimating tasks, including quantity take-offs and researching labor/material/equipment costs.
• Uses Timberline to prepare OPCCs for construction and design-build projects.
• Researches historical data and compiles summaries to guide future estimates.
• Receives and reviews pricing from PMs and procurement against OPCCs.
• Contacts subs and suppliers for current pricing and bidder interest.
• Participates in pre-bid job walks.
• Participates in Bid-Day quote tabulations.
• Supervises project activities on basic to moderately complex tasks.
• Provides technical and field administration support to project personnel.
• Prepares and reviews submittals of moderate to high complexity.
• Issues construction docs and layout to field crews and answers questions.
• Prepares and interprets specs and drawings for foremen and superintendents.
• Maintains and edits field as-built drawings.
• Completes RFIs and assists PM with change management.
• Coordinates timely arrival of parts, equipment and materials with field personnel and vendors.
• Develops or assists with purchase orders, subcontracts, change orders, and payments.
• Develops scopes of work of varying complexity.
• Performs surveying and verifies locations/elevations.
• Prepares documentation: PXPs, addenda, reports, manuals, warranties, spare parts, punch lists.
• Assists design engineers and subs with site-condition solutions.
