Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an estimator with a strong cost‑control mindset to support projects from bidding through execution. You will perform quantity take‑offs, compile OPCCs, and research cost data to produce accurate estimates.

Travel may be required; you will collaborate with project teams to align pricing, schedules, and procurement. This role emphasizes QA/QC and coordination across engineering and construction disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• 3 years of related experience; travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to moderately complex estimating tasks including quantity take‑offs and cost research.
• Prepare or assist in Opinions of Probable Cost of Construction (OPCC) using Timberline.
• Research historical data and compile reports to guide future estimates.
• Coordinate with project managers and procurement for current pricing.
• Develop purchase orders, subcontracts, change orders, and applications for payment.
• Prepare project scheduling and financial analyses for routine reporting.
• Develop detailed baseline schedules and work breakdown structures (WBS).
• Support QA/QC, health, safety, and field administration on projects.
